Expanding the single channel ingest Variable Time Delay “TSS-2470II” to include an additional output channel, not only extends the ability of a single server but increases the usefulness. Just as in the original TSS-2470II, with the DualZone Variable Server the amount of delay time can be adjusted on-the-fly from 30 seconds to 24 hours or more depending on storage and resolution, without loss of any currently recorded time.

Maintaining a simple user interface makes adjusting and readjusting the amount of delay time easy. Establish an initial delay time in the primary delay window, then utilizing any of the four preset buttons or transport controls, change the delay as needed. This methodology provides users with a simple way to initiate different amounts of delay time without the need for manual recording and rebroadcasting. The input feed is automatically delayed the set amount of time without any further user intervention required.

Multiple applications

Time zone shifting in not the only use of the TSS 2470II DualZone delay server. Another benefit of the second output is as a way to review previously broadcasted material for quality assurance. Since the variable time delay allows for the use of straight forward transport controls, the second output channel can be used to review 24 or more hours of previously recorded content. The server can also be used a a disaster recovery system storing as much as a weeks worth of content that can be retrieved and replayed at the push of a button. The locate function provides quick access a time previously recorded by simply selecting the recorded on day and entering the time.

As with all of our time delay systems, video is stored using H.264 compression at 100Mbps to reproduce the delayed feed with exceptional quality. Like the TSS-2470II, the DualZone still supports all broadcast formats – HD at 720p, 1080i, and NTSC/PAL SD at frame rates of 29.97 or 25Hz.

Because the TSS-2470II DualZone transports high-value program content, it also employs server grade components with a four-drive, RAID 5 storage disk array for enhanced reliability. Drives, power supplies and fans are hot swappable with redundancy allowing the system to continue running without downtime. With its 1U space saving chassis design, low power consumption, multiple fan forced-air cooling systems, and the dependable Linux® based OS, the TSS-2470II DualZone Time Delay server maintains the quality and reliability customers expect from the 360 Systems TSS Servers.

Should the the TSS-2470II DualZone system need to be controlled from a remote location, the included Remote Workstation software application can be used to connect to the server GUI or the optional GPIO triggers may be implemented. Other features include high-quality 10 bit video with up to 16 channels of embedded audio and support for closed captions and other VANC data. A live feed monitor output and frame accurate delay from 30 seconds to 24 hours or more, round out an excellent standard feature set.

Scalable media storage & high-density

Harmonic MediaGrid® is perfect for digital media applications requiring shared, real-time storage. You can ingest, playout, archive, edit, transcode and control over-the-top (OTT) adaptive bitrate streaming in one place.

Flexible & scalable playout server system

You can do it all and more with Spectrum™ X. Combine your file, baseband and transport stream ingest with integrated channel playout capabilities. You’ll have graphics, branding, DVE and live switching of baseband and compressed IP sources all in one server. Store and deliver your channels based on your business needs with Spectrum X. The server systems come in several sizes to accommodate small to large channel counts and can adapt to storage capacity needs.

Integrated channel playout in all systems

Integrated channel playout functionality is present in all Spectrum X products. Signal chains that used to require multiple pieces of equipment can be collapsed into a single Spectrum X server.

Reach new levels of efficiency

Integrated functions are onboard graphics, master control switching, playout automation, subtitle insertion, audio mixing, delay service, audio watermarking and much more.

Transition to IP workflows

By integrating SDI and IP I/O on the same chassis, Spectrum X also eases the migration to IP playout workflows, allowing broadcasters to transition away from baseband at their own pace.
Extremely high performance network storage with built in Ethernet switch, 4 x 10G Ethernet ports, 2 x 1G Ethernet ports, Dropbox and Google Drive sync for distributing files globally and redundant RAID 5 design.

Professional Quality

For real-time record and play operations, the high-performance Kiva+ Presentation video server utilizes high-quality AVC-Intra video hardware. When AVC-Intra Class 100 media files are imported into Kiva+, no media file transcoding is involved so they are imported in the shortest amount of time, and with professional-level image quality. Import speeds can range from 5X up to 40X real-time when 10-gigabit data connections are used in conjunction with external storage devices that incorporate similar, extremely high-speed technology such as storage devices featuring modern NVMe SSD technology. Kiva+ can also easily ingest media files created with just about any other video codec. These files will be cleanly transcoded into the AVC-Intra codec upon import into Kiva+.

Control your playout in one place

Take your playout system control to the next level with Spectrum™ Media Studio. Increase your workflow efficiency with all of your graphics, audio and master control in one easy-to-use interface.
