The C16A-2DANTE is a compact and lightweight 2 RU 16 Channel SDI embedded audio monitoring system that provides visual and aural monitoring of all 16 channels of audio from a 3G/HD/SD-SDI signal. Additionally the C16A- 2DANTE connects directly to your Dante IP audio network.

By using the Dante controller in a “set & forget” mode you can route any 16 channels of audio on your Dante IP audio network to the 16 audio meters on the front panel display. Easily select which audio channels you want sent to the high-quality speakers and four un-balanced AES outputs send the audio out for additional audio analysis if needed.

The C16A-2DANTE is a compact and lightweight 2 RU 16 Channel SDI embedded audio monitoring system that provides visual and aural monitoring of all 16 channels of audio from a 3G/HD/SD-SDI signal. Additionally the C16A- 2DANTE connects directly to your Dante IP audio network.

By using the Dante controller in a “set & forget” mode you can route any 16 channels of audio on your Dante IP audio network to the 16 audio meters on the front panel display. A large vacuum fluorescent display located on the front panel displays the audio on 16 bar graph VU/PPM meters, additionally, the C16C-2 provides ITU1770-3/1771 measurements. SDI signal status, group audio presence and a reset timer for the LKFS meter are also visible on the display.

With simplicity in mind, the C16C-2 has been designed with an intuitive user interface to allow for easy access to the signals and information you need to monitor. Twelve illuminated pushbuttons located directly below the display allow for intuitive channel source and mode selection for on the fly monitoring. Three additional pushbuttons to the left of the display provide input source selection to route SDI 1, SDI 2, or AES/ANALOG to the display and speakers for monitoring.

A high-quality military spec rotary shaft encoder is used to provide volume control with a unique push to mute function. Also located on the front panel is a 1/4" jack for use when headphones are required. The C16C-2 internal speakers will automatically mute once a headset has been detected when plugged in.

Two 3G/HD/SD-SDI signals can be connected to the BNC’s on the rear panel while a reclocked output of each is also provided. One 75 Ohm Unbalanced AES/EBU input is on a BNC connector while the 2 channel analog audio input is on two 3 Pin terminal blocks. Two 3-Pin terminal block connectors also provide a stereo monitor output. This monitor output follows the signal that is being monitored on the internal speakers. The front panel volume control can also be used to control the monitor output by placing a jumper on the GPI connector.

An Ethernet port located on the rear panel allows the operator to connect to the unit using the free openGear dashboard software application. This unique feature provides future software upgrades.

The C16C-2 is powered by an external power supply with an option for a redundant PSU when required. A high-quality class D amplifier and full-range speakers provide intelligible audio for complete confidence monitoring.

This allows the operator to see the audio presence of all 64 channels at once. An additional larger bar graph VU/PPM meter with channel select indication is also provided for the channels you have selected to monitor.
